Our Story
RESET Invest s.r.o. and the story of the OiS Oil Sensor
We are a small company focused on research and development, including bringing our own ideas to life.
The idea to develop and build the first oil sensor came from the father of RESET Invest’s current managing director, Mr. Vladimir Ochotny, back in 1988.

The idea to develop and build the first oil sensor came from the father of RESET Invest’s current managing director, Mr. Vladimir Ochotny, back in 1988.
In the early 1990s, a few units were indeed built—in a garage—and some of them are likely still operating in industrial facilities today. The idea then gradually faded because one-off production was too labor-intensive, costly, and not very profitable.
We have now completely reinvented the OiS oil and petroleum-product sensor: it’s no longer analog like before, but fully digital and microcontroller-driven. Each unit is manufactured with great care using modern technologies. With the capacity of our domestic production, we can meet demand not only in the Czech Republic and across the EU, but worldwide. We place strong emphasis on build quality, final inspection, and testing of every OiS sensor, while also providing an individual approach to customers—offering not only technical support and application consulting, but also an extended 3-year warranty.

Install OiS and help protect nature with us!
We’re committed to continually improving our product and listening to our customers. The current design of the sensor isn’t a dogma. While the sensing principle remains the same, we can adapt the sensor’s form and build to meet specific requirements.
Together with our partners, we offer complete security solutions that don’t have to be limited to detecting oil or fuel leaks. For example, systems can be designed with standard security sensors (PIR motion, glass-break, door/window contacts, water-leak detectors, etc.) alongside OiS sensors. If the customer already operates an intruder alarm, information system, or industrial control (PLC, etc.), it’s usually straightforward to extend the existing setup with OiS sensors.

Every technology and industrial operation has its limits, and there is never a 100% guarantee that an accident—or even a disaster—won’t occur through an unusual chain of events. Even the best-secured storage area or facility will, from time to time, experience an unforeseen incident (for example, in 2025 there was a case in Hustopece where hundreds of litres of diesel leaked into a stream: Znečištěný potok v Hustopečích: vytekly stovky litrů nafty - iDNES.cz ), one that seemed improbable—if not impossible—despite full compliance with operating rules.
Today, there’s an additional level of protection: securing various operations with our OiS sensor to enhance environmental safety and safeguard the monitored technology. Early leak detection near the source or facility is always preferable to discovering oil in a river, stream, or soil afterwards.
The resulting damage is always a multiple of the cost of prevention and has many components: material losses (the stored substance escapes and damages surrounding materials), environmental damage (often incalculable and, sadly, devastating for flora and fauna), and economic losses associated with remediation (fire brigade and inspectorate call-outs, equipment and labour costs, etc.). Finally, there may also be substantial fines if the operator or owner failed to comply with operational regulations and laws.
